I love this neckline!

Details!

This halter is made from men's ties. They have all been cut open and the padding and lining removed.

I sewed panels together then cut the pattern using the straight grain.

Fronts and backs are boned and there's an invisible zipper at the left side seam.

There's one really big snap under the metallic trim and two really small black snaps(my thumb is in the middle) that disappear in the tuille when it's closed

Here's a view wearing the skirt. It's kind of a handerchief hemline. The skirt snaps together, hidden by the trim and the waist folds over.

This is a wool wrap skirt. It's made from scraps left over from a pair of pants. I've added some stray tulle and a great piece of trim that i actually purchased! Oops! It just snaps closed with great big snaps. The hem is frayed about an inch, but that is still in progress.

I make the patch look like embroidery by using a foot that has two grooves in it. (it's my buttonhole foot) I just zig zag stitch over the yarn, in the same colour.
The waist has a hidden 1/4" wide elastic at the top under the fold. You cannot see it. The belt loops hold the foled facing in place. This is a pull-on skirt and is great for bike riding.
It's like have a wool blanket around your butt.

I created the dart at the center back to shape the skirt over my hips. This long dart ends just before the hem. The hem just curls under and is the actual hem of the sweater.

I like adding belt loops so i can wear my favourite belts that are always hanging in the closet. The heart patch is there to cover a hole. There are always holes in old wool sweaters.

I used the same "fake embroidery" method as on the grey sweater with the leaves. Check March blog for pictures. It's a patch with yarn stitched on top.

This is the beginning of a skirt. Men's plum coloured wool sweater. I cut the neck open, then I eventually cut the sleeves off as well.

This was a great big men's shirt. I cut the entire neck area off and added an elastic casing. Once the neck is gone it becomes a raglan sleeve peasant blouse. I've just added some prined satin trim on the sleeve cuffs, inside the neck for the elastic casing and at the hem, inside.

Here's the back view and the seam is not at the center back,I just let it land where it needed to be so that it could fit my waist measurement.

Another pair of men's trousers that were made into a short skirt. The Hem is trimmed with men's tie points.
